Step-On Push Through Inside Cut – Static Ball Control Drills – Soccer Coerver Training for U10-U11

November 11, 2016

Static ball mastery drills like these are very important for the development of ball coordination and soccer skills.
Many ball control exercises are the basis for more complex soccer moves and techniques.
Master these and you will master the ball. When you master the ball, you master the game.

All you need for this soccer practice is a square meter on the lawn. You can train them even on the carpet in the living room.

Soccer coaches should incorporate these drills in their soccer training or warm-up time before a soccer game.

Tutorial:

This drills builds on the Pull Push Inside (Static Ball Control Drills for U6-U7) and the Pull Push Inside (Static Ball Control Drills for U8-U9). The player uses both feet and jumps on the support foot while executing the drill.

When starting with the right foot:

2. Take the ball with laces of the right foot.
3. Close in on the ball and perform a step-on with the left foot.
4. At the same time:
a. Step beyond the ball with the left foot and plant it to the right of the central axis of the ball.
b. The right foot remains on the ground behind the ball at this point.
5. Lift the right foot and drag the ball forward with the inside of the right foot with the toes pointing down.
6. Perform an inside cut with the right foot after the ball passes the left foot from behind.
7. Take the ball with laces of the left foot.

b. The left foot remains on the ground behind the ball at this point.
10. Lift the left foot and drag the ball forward with the inside of the left foot with the toes pointing down.
11. Perform an inside cut with the left foot after the ball passes the right foot from behind.
12. Continue steps 2-11.

Things to watch out for:

a. Don’t step to much aside beyond the ball after the step-on.
b. Don’t kick the ball forward but drag it along while moving the leg forward.
c. Make sure there is enough space between both feet after the inside cut in order to take the ball.
