Clevenger called Scott a “thug” and suggested that protesters “should be locked behind bars like animals.” His tweets also called the Black Lives Matter movement and president Obama pathetic. Jerry Dipoto, the Mariner’s executive vice president and general manager released a statement regarding Clevenger’s behavior, and said: “While he is certainly free to express himself, his tweets do not in any way represent the opinions of the Seattle Mariners.
